Recreation Overview

Rigolet is a very physically active community. We offer a full range of sports activities at the gym and throughout the community. We have one of the more active school/community gymnasiums on the coast, we offer programming 7 nights a week. There are many community events that are also fun to participate in; including bingo, walking on the boardwalk and various carnivals throughout the year.

We offer a summer recreation program which brings our local youth into the work environment providing them with skills that will be essential in their future as well as bringing our programming to the youth of the community.

Recreation have hired on 4 assistants they are: Ashley Flowers, Hank Palliser, Russell Palliser, and Ivy Campbell. The duties of the assistants are to run a afterschool program which is held at the hall. Students come to play table tennis, darts, board games, and just to hang out.

The salmon festival is the highlight of the summer and the Levi Pottle Memorial Dogteam Race is the highlight of the winter/spring.

We highlight many of our holidays as well; we have a Christmas Parade every year including a visit from Santa at the Evening Star Hall, we host an adult New Years Eve Ball, there are Valentine Dances, Halloween Parties and a plethora of various other special events as well.

Rigolet has become a very active community and we plan on becoming more so as time passes.
